Georgia defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt is facing misdemeanor charges of criminal trespass, damage to property and family violence.

The rising senior was arrested Tuesday night in relation to a domestic incident that allegedly occurred Friday on the Athens campus. His bond was set at $1,500, according to the Athens-Clarke County jail booking report obtained by the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

According to university police, officers responding to a 911 call about a verbal dispute discovered that Wyatt had allegedly kicked and damaged a door belonging to a woman with whom he had a prior relationship.

“I’m disappointed in the misconduct that is outlined in the incident report,” Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart said in a statement Wednesday. “This is not indicative of the behavior we expect from our student-athletes who represent the University of Georgia and our football program. We will address it internally in the appropriate way.”

Wyatt played in 13 games in 2019 and registered 30 tackles, 1.5 sacks and 19 quarterback pressures. He has 49 tackles and 2.5 sacks in 25 games since transferring from Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College.
