Georgia running back James Cook was arrested early Saturday on misdemeanor charges of possession of an open container of alcohol in his vehicle and driving without a valid license.

According to Athens-Clarke County police records, the 20-year-old sophomore was booked at 1:46 a.m. ET and released on bond about one hour later.

Cook has played in all 13 games this season for Georgia, rushing 28 times for 176 yards and two touchdowns and catching 16 passes for 132 yards.

There was no immediate word whether the arrest would affect his availability for the No. 5 Bulldogs (11-2) against No. 7 Baylor (11-2) in the Sugar Bowl on New Year’s Day.

Cook rushed for 284 yards and two touchdowns and added eight receptions for 89 yards in 10 games as a 2018 freshman.
