LSU will name three-time Super Bowl champion Kevin Faulk as its running backs coach, multiple outlets reported Tuesday.

Bruce Feldman of The Athletic first reported the promotion for Faulk, who has been the Tigers’ director of player development since 2018.

Faulk will replace Tommie Robinson, who will assume the same position at Texas A&M, TexAgs.com reported.

Faulk, 43, was a first-team All-American in 1996 as a sophomore at LSU. In four seasons (1995-98), he rushed for a school record 4,557 yards, which is fourth all time in the Southeastern Conference.

He went on to play 13 seasons in the NFL, all with the New England Patriots. A valuable weapon out of the backfield, Faulk gained 7,308 yards (3,607 rushing, 3,701 receiving) from scrimmage and scored 31 touchdowns.
