GAME BREAKDOWN
KEY MATCHUP: LSU’s offensive line against Rice’s defensive line. The Tigers are reasonably healthy on the line, which they rarely have been this season. This is an opportunity for the line to take over against an outmanned opponent. The Tigers should be able to open plenty of holes for Nick Brossette and Clyde Edwards-Helaire as well as allow Joe Burrow to operate comfortably. If the offensive line takes care of business, LSU should be able to put up a lot of points and allow the defense to play with a comfortable lead.
DRAFT SLANT
–OL Garrett Brumfield was projected as a possible first- or second-round draft choice next spring. He suffered a leg injury against Auburn and missed five games before returning against Alabama two weeks ago. This stretch run is an opportunity to show that he’s still the prospect he was before the injury.

–TE Jamal Pettigrew, who would have been a backup, is out for the season because of a knee injury.
