PLAYERS TO WATCH

–LG Adrian Magee needs to bounce back from a difficult game against Florida. Magee started the season at right tackle, but was moved to left guard to replace injured Garrett Brumfield. Coach Ed Orgeron resisted the temptation to move Magee back to right tackle for the sake of continuity.

–DT Brendan Fehoko is one of the leaders on the defensive line, which will be challenged by Georgia’s outstanding offensive line. He’ll need to help plug the middle against the run and generate a pass rush in order to contain the Bulldogs’ high-scoring offense.

–CB Kristian Fulton has been picked on for much of the season and that’s likely to continue as long as Greedy Williams is on the other side of the defense. Fulton missed much of preseason practice while appealing an NCAA suspension and has yet to play up to expectations.

–QB Joe Burrow has been primarily responsible for a recent rash of turnovers. The Tigers can’t afford to give points to Georgia, and they can’t afford to squander scoring opportunities. So it will be up to Burrow to take care of the football both by making good decisions on his throws and securing the football when he gets hit.

SERIES HISTORY: LSU leads the series 16-13-1, but Georgia won the last meeting, 44-41 in 2013 in Athens, as well as the last meeting in Tiger Stadium, 52-38 in 2008.

QUOTE TO NOTE: “We have to quit shooting ourselves in the foot. We get a big first down, we got a holding penalty. Turnovers. We go down the field and we get some sacks. Any time you get one or two sacks it’s hard to score. They get a negative plays. … So now we have to eliminate the negative plays, protect the quarterback better, sustain drives, and not have penalties that end the drive.” — LSU coach Ed Orgeron.
