GAME BREAKDOWN

KEY MATCHUP: The issue for the Gamecocks may be which quarterback their defense will have to defend against. Jarrett Guarantano was injured in Tennessee’s loss to Alabama and is expected to play, but if his upper body injury doesn’t give him free rein then senior backup Keller Chryst could step in again. He threw two touchdown passes against Alabama last week and is 16-of-28 passing for the season. Guarantano is 85-of-135 with six touchdown tosses to Chryst’s three for the season.

DRAFT SLANT

–DT Javon Kinlaw (6-3, 300) has the quickness that could make him an appealing pick if the junior college transfer decides to opt out of his senior year to enter the draft. Kinlaw has 22 tackles for the season after recording 20 last year. He leads the team in sacks with 2.5 and his hits have produced two fumbles. He had 4.5 sacks in nine games for Jones County (Miss.) Community College in his only season there. “He’s been a guy that’s come to work every day with the right kind of mindset and mentality to improve and get better,” coach Will Muschamp said.

ROSTER REPORT:

–LB D.J. Wonnum hasn’t played since injuring his ankle in the opener but is expected to return this week against Tennessee. “He’s ready to go for Saturday,” Muschamp said. “It’s great to have him back.”

–RB A.J. Turner, who has been going through concussion protocols, will be cleared for Saturday, Muschamp said.

–S Nick Harvey will be out because of concussion issues.

–S J.T. Ibe is out with an injured knee.
