PLAYERS TO WATCH

–RB Trayveon Williams, a junior from Houston, was held to a season-low 26 yards against Mississippi State. It was the fourth time this season and second-straight outing that Williams was held to under 100 yards.

–WR Quartney Davis was the most reliable target for QB Kellen Mond in the passing game last week while the Aggies’ offense struggled to get rolling against a stingy Mississippi State defense. Davis led Texas A&M with six catches for 59 yards and a touchdown against the Bulldogs. Davis, a sophomore from Houston, had nine catches for 127 yards in the Aggies’ previous outing against South Carolina. It seems as if Davis is finding his stride as SEC play enters the homestretch.

–LB Otaro Alaka, a senior, led Texas A&M in tackles (nine) and tackles for loss (two) in the loss to Mississippi State. Alaka has had at least five stops in all but one game this season, with the exception being a 59-7 Week 1 rout of Northwestern State.

SERIES HISTORY: Texas A&M leads the all-time series over Auburn 5-3. The Aggies have won all three meetings against Auburn away from College Station. Only two of the eight games in the series have been decided by 10 or fewer points.

QUOTE TO NOTE: “I have fond memories of my time there, the six years I was there. We had some great teams, undefeated teams. We won 20 in a row at once stretch. The team went almost two years and never lost a game. We had some great players and great people. I always loved the people there. They were always honest and genuine, good people. I loved my time there.” — Jimbo Fisher on his time at Auburn, where he was a quarterbacks coach from 1993-98.
