NC State wide receiver C.J. Riley will miss the rest of the 2019 season with a torn left ACL.

Riley suffered the injury on the punt coverage team in the first quarter of the Wolfpack’s 34-6 victory over East Carolina on Saturday. Riley started the game at wide receiver but did not make a catch before the injury.

A redshirt junior, Riley tore the ACL in his right knee during the summer of 2016.

“He’ll have surgery and he’ll be back,” head coach Dave Doeren said Monday. “He has been through this before on his other knee. He is very upbeat.”

As a sophomore, Riley had 28 catches, 315 yards and two touchdowns.
