The Los Angeles Dodgers activated starting pitcher Rich Hill from the 60-day injured list on Thursday with the left-hander scheduled to start in the series finale against the Baltimore Orioles.

Hill, 39, who has not pitched since June 19 because a left forearm flexor strain, is expected to throw two innings Thursday. He got off to a late start this season because of a knee injury during spring training, going 4-1 with a 2.55 ERA in 10 starts before the forearm injury occurred.

Hill is expected to get four starts in the regular season as he tries to build up his pitch count to be a potential fourth starter for the Dodgers in the postseason behind Clayton Kershaw, Hyun-Jin Ryu and Walker Buehler. Los Angeles clinched its seventh consecutive National League West title Tuesday.

To make room on the 40-man roster, the Dodgers designated right-hander Jaime Schultz for assignment. Schultz had four appearances with the Dodgers this season, posting a 7.20 ERA.
