The Los Angeles Dodgers announced that right-hander Dustin May will start Sunday’s Game 7 of the National League Championship Series against the Atlanta Braves.

May has had just one day of rest after starting Game 5 on Friday night. He threw 55 pitches in two innings in that contest, allowing two runs (one earned), three hits, two walks while striking out three.

The 23-year-old May has a 2.45 ERA in two appearances (one start) in the NLCS. Overall this postseason, May is 1-0 with a 1.35 ERA in 6 2/3 innings over four appearances (two starts).

May won’t likely pitch more than three innings in this contest as manager Dave Roberts indicated the plan includes left-hander Tony Gonsolin pitching multiple innings.

Rookie right-hander Ian Anderson is starting for Atlanta. The 22-year-old pitched four shutout innings of one-hit scoreless ball and struck out five and walked five in Game 2.

Anderson is 2-0 in three postseason starts and has pitched 15 2/3 innings without allowing a run. He has struck out 22 and allowed just six hits.

The winner of Sunday’s game at Arlington, Texas will face the Tampa Bay Rays in the World Series.
