Former New York Yankees left-hander CC Sabathia didn’t take too kindly to a recent comment made by Houston Astros shortstop Carlos Correa.

Correa understandably was pleased after the Astros punched their ticket to the American League Division Series. While giddy with emotion, Correa also took aim at the detractors who have surfaced after Major League Baseball declared that the Astros stole signs throughout the 2017 season and continued to do so for part of the 2018 campaign.

“I know a lot of people are mad. I know a lot of people don’t want to see us here,” Correa said, “but what are they going to say now?”

Well, Sabathia provided an answer to Correa during a recent R2C2 podcast with Ryan Ruocco.

“They cheated and then they’re mad at us. Like get the (expletive) out of here,” Sabathia said. “It’s a (expletive) joke. And then you finish under .500 this year. Like, shut the (expletive) up … The kid’s a clown, I’m sorry.”

Houston, which finished the season with a 29-31 record, swept Minnesota in the wild-card round. The Astros face the Oakland Athletics and the Yankees will play the Tampa Bay Rays in the ALDS, which begins Monday.
