Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. is “day to day” after he injured his left ankle during Thursday’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Acuna underwent X-rays and the results were negative, according to Braves manager Brian Snitker.

Acuna was injured while trying to beat out an infield grounder. He landed awkwardly and immediately displayed that he was in pain but eventually was able to walk off the field.

“Those are scary moments for players, especially when they’ve got the torque and force he’s running with,” Snitker told reporters after the 8-4 loss to the Blue Jays.

The 23-year-old led off the game with his major league-leading 12th homer. Acuna is batting .302 with 24 RBIs in 35 games

The Braves also lost outfielder Cristian Pache (hamstring) in the second inning. Pache was running out a grounder when he was injured and will be placed on the 10-day injured list.

Pache, 22, is batting just .111 with one homer and four RBIs in 22 games.

Outfielder Ender Inciarte (hamstring) will be activated from the IL, according to Snitker.

Inciarte, 30, is batting .294 in 12 games and last played on April 16.
