The Atlanta Braves placed center fielder Ender Inciarte on the 10-day injured list with a right hamstring strain prior to Saturday’s game against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Inciarte suffered the injury while running the bases during Friday’s 8-3 loss to the Dodgers.

Outfielder Adam Duvall was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett to fill the roster opening.

Inciarte was in obvious pain as he rounded third during the second inning. He hopped toward home plate to score the run before leaving the contest.

An MRI exam on Saturday revealed the severity of the injury.

Inciarte is batting .246 with five homers and 24 RBIs in 65 games. He missed 55 games earlier in the campaign due to a back injury.

The 28-year-old Inciarte was a National League All-Star in 2017 when he batted. 304 and had 201 hits. He is a three-time Gold Glove winner.

Duvall is right back with the Braves after being optioned to Gwinnett on Friday. He is batting .250 with five homers and 10 RBIs in 19 games with Atlanta.

The 30-year-old Duvall is batting .259 with 29 homers and 84 RBIs in 94 games for Gwinnett.
