Chicago White Sox designated hitter Eloy Jimenez departed Thursday’s Game 3 of the American League first-round series with the Oakland Athletics after aggravating a right foot injury.

Jimenez doubled to open the third inning and appeared to signal he was in discomfort after reaching second base. He was examined by a trainer and removed for pinch-runner James McCann.

Jimenez missed the first two games of the series due to the injury. He batted .296 with had 14 homers and 41 RBIs in 55 games this season.

Also, rookie left-handed reliever Garrett Crochet left the game in the second inning due to tightness in his pitching forearm. Crochet struck out both batters he faced.

The White Sox said both players will be further evaluated.
