The Cincinnati Reds activated first baseman Joey Votto from the 10-day injured list prior to Tuesday’s game against the visiting Milwaukee Brewers.

Votto, 37, has been sidelined with a broken left thumb since being hit by a pitch from Chicago White Sox left-hander Dallas Keuchel on May 5.

The 2010 National League MVP and six-time All-Star is batting .226 with five homers and 17 RBIs in 29 games this season.

Since debuting with the Reds in 2007, Votto has hit .303 with 300 home runs and 983 RBIs in 1,800 career games.

Also on Tuesday, the Reds place right-hander Michael Feliz on the 10-day IL with a right elbow injury.

Feliz, 27, has registered a 16.20 ERA in nine relief appearances this season since joining the Reds in mid-May. Cincinnati claimed Feliz on waivers from the Pittsburgh Pirates.

He owns a 17-9 record with a 5.38 ERA in 222 career appearances (one start) with the Houston Astros (2015-17), Pirates (2018-21) and Reds.
