Two World Series rings that Cleveland Indians manager Terry Francona reported stolen last month were recovered by the Pima County (Arizona) Sheriff’s Department.

The department said Tuesday that investigators found the rings, which Francona won as manager of the 2004 and 2007 Boston Red Sox, in a sports memorabilia store in Phoenix. In the course of their investigation, detectives also discovered that a check for $245,830 made out to Francona had been deposited fraudulently.

On Nov. 7, Francona reported the rings were stolen from his offseason home in Tucson, Ariz.

Authorities arrested 33-year-old Jamey Estep and charged him with second-degree burglary, theft and trafficking in stolen property — all felonies — in connection with the case. He already was being held at the Pima County jail on unrelated charges.

“I’m incredibly grateful to the effort that the Pima County Sheriff’s Department has put forth in this,” Francona told Cleveland.com. “Beyond that I can’t comment because it’s an open investigation.”
