The San Francisco Giants’ 8-3 victory over the Detroit Tigers in Game 1 of the World Series on Wednesday night earned FOX an 8.8 overnight rating, the second-lowest rating ever for a World Series opener, according to The Sports Business Daily.
It was down eight percent from the St. Louis Cardinals-Texas Rangers opener last year, and ahead of only the Cardinals-Tigers opener in 2006, which aired on a Saturday night.
