The New York Mets and the Colorado Rockies are talking, but not much is happening.
New York is interested in dealing for shortstop Troy Tulowitzki. The Rockies seem resigned to trading their All-Star, but oft-injured star.
But according to Yahoo Sports, the Mets are afraid the asking price will be too steep. And while the two sides remain in communication, CBSSports.com says talks at this time are just cursory.
Tulowitzki is one of the game’s best players when he is healthy, but that’s the issue. The 30-year-old has played in 122, 140, 47, 119 and 88 games in the past five years.
The other issue the Mets must decide concerns salary. Tulowitzki is locked up for the next six years at a cost of $118 million.
