BOSTON — Chris Davis blasted a three-run home run with two outs in the top of the ninth inning and drove in five runs as the Baltimore Orioles spoiled the Fenway Park debuts of David Price and Craig Kimbrel with a 9-7 win over the Boston Red Sox on Monday afternoon.

Davis unloaded on an 0-1 knuckle-curve from Kimbrel and deposited it into the center-field bleachers after Caleb Joseph and Manny Machado walked to snap the 6-6 tie.

Mookie Betts brought the Red Sox within two on his solo home run to lead off the bottom of the ninth, and Dustin Pedroia singled and Xander Bogaerts walked to set up David Ortiz.

Ortiz grounded into a double play and Hanley Ramirez struck out to end the game.

Padres 4, Phillies 3

PHILADELPHIA — Alexi Amarista drove in the go-ahead run with a seventh-inning squeeze bunt and Wil Myers homered as the San Diego beat Philadelphia, the Padres’ third victory in four games.

Jon Jay added an RBI double for San Diego, now 3-4 after going scoreless in its first three games of the season.

Cesar Hernandez scored two runs and Maikel Franco had three hits for Philadelphia, which fell to 2-5 by dropping its home opener.

Pirates 7, Tigers 4

DETROIT — Jonathon Niese checked Detroit on five hits over six innings while Matt Joyce, getting a chance to start because of the American League’s designated hitter rule, keyed two early rallies with a single plus a double to spark Pittsburgh.

Niese gave up a pair of solo home runs to J.D. Martinez and Nick Castellanos.

Niese struck out five while walking one and he only breached 90 mph a couple of times as he changed speeds and moved the ball around. Neftali Feliz pitched a scoreless seventh, Tony Watson the eighth and Mark Melancon picked up his third save.
