Mets LogoMILWAUKEE — Matt Reynolds drove in the go-ahead run in the 11th inning, reaching on a bases-loaded fielders’ choice, and Jeurys Familia worked a perfect 11th as the New York Mets extended their winning streak to three games with a 2-1 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday night at Miller Park.

Reynolds ripped a 1-0 slider from Blaine Boyer (1-1) right at shortstop Jonathan Villar, but Villar dropped the ball and flipped to second for the easy out, allowing Asdrubal Cabrera to score.

Boyer got Curtis Anderson to end the inning on a flyout to right but Milwaukee couldn’t answer against Familia, who earned his 21st save of the season.

A lengthy replay challenge wiped out the game’s first run.

Aaron Hill drew a leadoff walk in the third and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Guerra. Villar followed with a two-out single that ricocheted off Harvey to shortstop Cabrera, who fired a throw home to catch Hill.

Home plate umpire Larry Vanover ruled Hill beat the throw, but a 3 minute, 1 second review led to the call being overturned, ending the inning.

Not satisfied, Brewers manager Craig Counsell asked for a crew chief review to verify catcher Kevin Plawecki wasn’t blocking the plate and after another 2:49, the play stood and Harvey got out of the inning.

Kirk Nieuwenhuis broke the scoring drought in the fifth, tapping Harvey for a one-out triple and scoring on a sacrifice fly by Ramon Flores.

It would be the only run of the game allowed Matt Harvey, who continued his remarkable turnaround by holding Milwaukee to a run on two hits while walking a pair and striking out eight over six innings, lowering his ERA to 4.66.

Yoenis Cespedes took Harvey off the hook for a loss with his 16th home run of the season to lead off the seventh. The Mets missed a golden opportunity to blow things open in the ninth, loading the bases with nobody out against Milwaukee closer Jeremy Jeffress, who retired three in a row to get out of the jam.

The Brewers had a chance in the bottom of the frame, stranding the winning run at third against Jim Henderson.

Junior Guerra went 6 2/3 innings for Milwaukee, allowing only a run while scattering five his and three walks with a pair of strikeouts.
