Infielder Gio Urshela is in agreement with the Detroit Tigers on a one-year, $1.5 million contract, multiple outlets reported Thursday.
The 32-year-old free agent batted .299 with 24 RBIs in 62 games with the Los Angeles Angels in 2023.
Urshela is a career .277 hitter with 64 homers and 280 RBIs in 664 games with the Cleveland franchise (2015, 2017), Toronto Blue Jays (2018), the New York Yankees (2019-21), Minnesota Twins (2022) and the Angels.
Defensively, he has started 471 games at third base, 23 at shortstop and 12 at first base.
