The Houston Astros placed infielder Aledmys Diaz on the 10-day injured list Sunday after he suffered dizziness on Saturday that led to an overnight stay in the hospital.

The 29-year-old Diaz was dizzy and light-headed on the team bus prior to Saturday’s game against the Oakland Athletics, leading to the hospitalization.

“We’re going to take every precaution imaginable to make sure he’s OK,” Astros manager A.J. Hinch told reporters before Sunday’s series finale in Oakland. “He should travel back with us (Sunday night) and be back in Houston with our doctors. With the roster the way it was, we needed to make a decision.”

Hinch said he exchanged text messages with Diaz on Saturday night and Sunday morning. Diaz is batting .267 with seven homers and 28 RBIs in 45 games.

Houston also activated right-hander Brad Peacock (shoulder) from the 10-day injured list, recalled Cy Sneed from Triple-A Rock Round and optioned fellow righty Rogelio Armenteros to the same affiliate.

Peacock, who is 6-6 with a 4.13 ERA in 17 appearances (15 starts), will work from the bullpen. The 31-year-old last pitched for the Astros on June 27.

Armenteros, 25, started Saturday against Oakland and took the loss while giving up five runs and seven hits over four innings. He is 1-1 with a 4.00 ERA in five big league appearances (two starts).

Sneed was optioned to Round Rock on Friday but hadn’t left the Bay Area. The 26-year-old is 0-1 with a 4.26 ERA in four appearances with the Astros. He is 7-6 with a 4.22 ERA in 18 appearances (nine starts) at Round Rock.
