Los Angeles Angers catcher Max Stassi underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left hip, the team announced Wednesday.

Stassi is expected to need four to six months to recover from the procedure. That would put him on track to return in mid-April at the latest.

The 29-year-old hit .278 this season with seven homers and 20 RBIs in 31 games. He drew 11 walks, struck out 21 times and recorded a .352 on-base percentage.

In 214 career games with the Houston Astros (2013-19) and the Angels (2019-20), Stassi has hit .216 with 19 homers and 63 RBIs.
