The Los Angeles Angels signed outfielder Aaron Hicks, who is being paid $19 million by the New York Yankees over the next two seasons.

The deal announced by the Angels on Monday is for one season at the league minimum salary of $740,000.

The Yankees released Hicks in May after signing him to a seven-year, $70 million contract extension in 2019.

Hicks, 34, was signed by Baltimore four days after his release and went on to hit .275 with seven home runs in 65 games. He was hitting .188 when the Yankees released him.

Hicks is a career .233 hitter with 108 home runs and 387 RBIs in 963 games with the Minnesota Twins (2013-15), Yankees (2016-23) and Orioles.

The Angels designated left-hander Kolton Ingram for assignment to clear room for Hicks on the 40-man roster. The 27-year-old Ingram made his MLB debut in 2023 and posted an 8.44 ERA in five relief appearances.
