The Los Angeles Angels placed catcher Max Stassi and outfielder Juan Lagares on the 10-day injured list as injuries continue to plague the team.

Tuesday’s moves come on the heels of third baseman Anthony Rendon (groin strain) hitting the IL with a groin strain and outfielder Dexter Fowler (torn ACL) being lost for the season.

Stassi, who turned 30 last month, suffered a left thumb sprain on Monday night. X-rays were negative Monday, but Tuesday’s MRI revealed a sprain.

The Angels, with Kurt Suzuki becoming the team’s primary catcher, recalled Anthony Bemboom for backup duties.

Los Angeles selected the contract of Jon Jay to fill in for Lagares and transferred Fowler to the 60-day IL.

Stassi, who started six games this season, is 6-for-16 (.375) with a home run and three walks. He’s a career .221 hitter as he begins his ninth big-league season.

Lagares, 32, is also in his ninth MLB season. A career .253 hitter, he’s 0-for-7 in two games this season.
