The Los Angeles Dodgers activated Justin Turner off the 10-day injured list and are expected to start the slugger at designated hitter Tuesday night in the middle game of their series against the San Diego Padres.

Right-handed pitcher Josh Sborz was sent to the team’s alternate training site to make room for Turner, put on the IL with a left hamstring strain on Aug. 29.

Turner, 35, is batting .282/.384/.410 with two home runs and 20 RBIs in 32 games. He’s missed the past 14 with the hamstring.

The Dodgers sit just 1.5 games ahead of the Padres, who have won eight in a row, including Monday night’s series opener. It’s the final series of the season between the teams.

Turner is a career .291/.368/.468 hitter with 122 home runs.
