The Los Angeles Dodgers placed right-hander Dustin May on the 10-day injured list Sunday.

May, 23, experienced pain in his right elbow in the second inning of Saturday night’s start against the Milwaukee Brewers, wincing after throwing a fastball to Billy McKinney and then immediately motioning to the dugout for a trainer.

The Dodgers said May will have an MRI on Monday to determine the severity of the injury.

In corresponding transactions, Los Angeles purchased the contract of left-hander Mike Kickham and transferred right-handed reliever Corey Knebel (lat strain) to the 60-day injured list.

May threw 27 pitches against the Brewers, allowing a solo homer to Luis Urias and striking out three batters.

He is 1-1 with a 2.74 ERA in five starts this season with 35 strikeouts and six walks in 23 innings. Since his debut with L.A. in 2019, he is 6-5 with a 2.93 ERA and 111 strikeouts in 113 2/3 innings.

Kickham, 32, is 1-4 with a 9.95 ERA in 20 career appearances (five starts) with the San Francisco Giants (2013-14) and Boston Red Sox (2020).
