Milwaukee starter Brandon Woodruff was ejected from the Brewers’ playoff game against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday as he was walking off the field after being removed from the contest.

Woodruff pitched 4 2/3 innings and gave up three runs on five hits with nine strikeouts before his exit.

The 27-year-old right-hander was frustrated after getting pulled and had words with plate umpire Quinn Wolcott as he was departing, apparently about an earlier pitch that he thought should have been a strike. He was officially ejected.

Woodruff left with the Brewers down 3-0 to the Dodgers, who were attempting to sweep the best-of-three National League wild-card series with a Game 2 win.
