The Milwaukee Brewers agreed to a three-year deal with right-handed pitcher Josh Lindblom, multiple media outlets reported Wednesday.
The contract for Lindblom, who played in South Korea the past two seasons, reportedly will guarantee $9,125,000. With incentive bonuses, his deal could reach $18 million, ESPN reported.
Lindblom, 32, pitched primarily in the Korean Baseball Organization the past five seasons, where he was a starter after working mainly as a reliever in the major leagues.
With the Doosan Bears in 2019, Lindblom compiled a 20-3 record with a 2.50 ERA in 30 starts. He was named the league’s MVP after setting a franchise record with 189 strikeouts in 194 2/3 innings. His two-year totals with Doosan included a 35-7 record with a 2.68 ERA and 346 strikeouts in 363 1/3 innings.
Prior to that, he spent three seasons with the Lotte Giants. Overall in the KBO, he went 63-34 with a 3.55 ERA in 130 starts.
In five major league seasons that included stints with the Los Angeles Dodgers (2011-12), Philadelphia Phillies (2012), Texas Rangers (2013), Oakland Athletics (2014) and Pittsburgh Pirates (2017), Lindblom has a 5-8 record with one save and a 4.10 ERA in 114 games (six starts).
