The Minnesota Twins activated right-hander Michael Pineda from the 10-day injured list to start Thursday night against the Rangers in Arlington, Texas.

Pineda, 30, has been out two weeks with a right triceps strain.

He is 7-5 with a 4.15 ERA and 103 strikeouts in 21 starts. He gave up one run on seven hits in six innings in his most recent appearance on Aug. 1 at Miami.

From June 13 to Aug. 1, Pineda went 3-2 with a 2.72 ERA with 50 strikeouts.

In a corresponding move, the Twins optioned righty Randy Dobnak to Triple-A Rochester.

Dobnak, 24, made one relief appearance with the Twins, pitching four scoreless innings Friday against Cleveland. He gave up six hits, struck out three batters and walked none.

The Twins enter Thursday’s game with a half-game lead over the Indians for first place in the American League Central.
