The New York Yankees and Roderick Arias agreed to a deal that will pay the shortstop $4 million, MLB.com reported on Saturday.

Arias, 17, is considered the top international prospect in baseball, per MLB.com.

Once the agreement is official, it will account for most of the $5,179,700 that the Yankees have in their base signing pool.

A switch-hitter, Arias joins another shortstop — Luis Suarez of Venezuela — in the Yankees’ international signing class.

The 6-foot-1 Arias has “no weaknesses,” former Yankees vice president of baseball operations Gordon Blakeley told the New York Post earlier this month.

The Arias and Suarez signings bolster the Yankees’ depth at shortstop, which includes minor-league prospects Anthony Volpe and Oswald Peraza.
