Philadelphia Phillies left-hander Adam Morgan was slated to undergo surgery on his pitching elbow Thursday to repair a flexor pronator injury, according to multiple reports.

The recovery time from the surgery is expected to be six to eight months, and Morgan could return during the 2021 season barring any setbacks. He is the second Phillies player scheduled to have elbow surgery this offseason, following teammate Rhys Hoskins, who underwent surgery on his left elbow to repair a torn ulna collateral ligament.

The 30-year-old Morgan went 0-1 with a 5.54 ERA in 17 relief appearances this season. He is 13-27 with a 4.84 ERA in 199 career games, which include 36 starts.
