The San Diego Padres are finalizing a deal with free agent right-hander Seth Lugo, multiple outlets reported Monday.
The 33-year-old reliever was 3-2 with a 3.60 ERA and three saves in 62 appearances for the New York Mets in 2022.
Over seven seasons with the Mets, Lugo posted a 32-24 record with a 3.48 ERA and 16 saves in 275 games (68 starts).
He has struck out 508 batters and walked 137 in 494 2/3 innings. New York drafted him in the 34th round in 2011.
