Vladimir Guerrero Jr. returned to the Toronto Blue Jays’ lineup three days after leaving a game against the Seattle Mariners with a knee injury.

Guerrero was scheduled to bat third Tuesday night in the series opener at Los Angeles against Dodgers’ ace Clayton Kershaw. He injured himself making an awkward throw Saturday from his third-base position, but a subsequent MRI revealed no serious damage and he was diagnosed with inflammation.

The Blue Jays still called up infielder Richard Urena as a precaution.

Guerrero entered Tuesday’s game bating .274 over his first 93 career games with 14 home runs and 54 RBIs.
