The Toronto Blue Jays activated lefthander Clayton Richard from the 10-day injured list Monday.
Richard, 35, has spent two long stints on the IL this year. He missed eight weeks at the beginning of the year with a stress reaction in his right knee before missing the past seven weeks with a left lat strain.
In 10 games this season, Richard is 1-5 with a 5.96 ERA and 22 strikeouts in 45 1/3 innings.
For his career, Richard is 69-84 with a 4.51 ERA in 275 games (210 starts). He also has pitched for the San Diego Padres, Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox.
The Blue Jays also recalled lefty Thomas Pannone from Triple-A Buffalo. The 25-year-old is 3-5 with a 6.44 ERA in 30 games (six starts) for Toronto this season.
