The Boston Celtics’ home game on Wednesday against the Orlando Magic has been postponed and will be rescheduled.

This is the third straight postponement for the Celtics because league health and safety protocols have left a team without the required eight players. They were unable to play on Sunday against the Miami Heat because of a shortage of Heat players or on Tuesday against the Bulls in Chicago.

The Celtics didn’t have enough players to face the Bulls and wouldn’t have had an adequate number against the Magic.

Boston is without Robert Williams and Jayson Tatum, who tested positive for COVID-19 within the past week, The Boston Globe reported. Tristan Thompson, Jaylen Brown, Semi Ojeleye, Javonte Green and Grant Williams all are out as a result of contact tracing.

The Celtics’ next game is scheduled for Friday, also against the Magic at TD Garden in Boston. No announcement has been made about the status of that game.
