Boston Celtics guard Kemba Walker will miss at least the team’s next two games due to a left oblique strain, coach Brad Stevens said Tuesday.
Walker will sit out Tuesday’s game against the visiting Oklahoma City Thunder and Wednesday’s home contest versus the Charlotte Hornets.
All-Star forward Jayson Tatum (left ankle) and center Robert Williams III (left knee) also are sitting out on Tuesday.
Walker, 30, is averaging 18.2 points and 5.0 assists in 39 games (all starts) this season.
A four-time All-Star, Walker is averaging 19.8 points and 5.4 assists in 700 career games (655 starts), with his first eight seasons being spent in Charlotte before joining Boston. He was selected by Charlotte with the ninth overall pick of the 2011 NBA Draft.
Stevens said he expects Tatum to return on Wednesday. Tatum is averaging 25.7 points, 7.4 rebounds and 4.3 assists in 55 games (all starts).
Williams averages 8.2 points, 7.0 rebounds and a team-leading 1.8 blocked shots in 47 games (10 starts).
