Detroit Pistons guard Jodie Meeks underwent surgery on his broken foot and is expected to miss 12-16 weeks.
The team announced Friday that Meeks had a surgical procedure on Thursday night to repair a non-displaced fracture of the fifth metatarsal in his right foot.
Meeks left the Pistons’ 92-87 victory over the Utah Jazz with 9:32 left in the second quarter Wednesday night. He played six minutes before his injury with one shot attempt.
Meeks, in his second season with the Pistons, will be re-evaluated throughout the rehabilitation process. He missed 22 games last season with a stress reaction in his lower back, and finished the season averaging 11.1 points in 60 games.
