Portland Trail Blazers shooting guard CJ McCollum has been ruled out of Saturday night’s game against the host Oklahoma City Thunder due to a sprained left ankle.

McCollum suffered the injury during Friday’s road loss to the Dallas Mavericks.

He injured the ankle when he landed on the foot of Dallas forward Maxi Kleber with 8:04 left in the first half. He had four points in 12 minutes before exiting.

The 28-year-old McCollum feared after Friday’s game that he may have to sit out against the Thunder as he pointed out a sprained ankle usually feels worse the following day.

The Trail Blazers haven’t divulged the severity of the injury.

McCollum is averaging 21.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists through 42 games.
