Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins, who has put up big numbers the past three games, will not play in Tuesday’s game against Minnesota because of a sore foot, the team announced.

It seems unlikely that Cousins would play in Wednesday’s road game against Utah either, and with only four regular-season games remaining after that, it’s possible Cousins is finished for the season.

He recorded triple-doubles in consecutive games last week, getting 21 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists (and six blocks) in Wednesday’s loss to the Houston Rockets, and collecting 24 points, 20 rebounds and 13 assists in the loss to New Orleans on Friday. On Sunday, Cousins had 26 points, 12 rebounds and four assists in a loss to Utah.

Cousins’ absence could lead to playing time for 7-foot-5, 360-pound Sim Bhullar, who has yet to play in an NBA game.
