Three-time All-Star Bradley Beal will miss his third consecutive game for the Washington Wizards on Friday against the Cleveland Cavaliers due to a left hamstring strain.

His status for the Wizards’ regular-season finale Sunday against the Charlotte Hornets remains up in the air as Washington jockeys for a playoff berth.

The Wizards (32-38) sit in 10th place in the Eastern Conference, the final spot of this year’s play-in round. They are 2 1/2 games ahead of the Chicago Bulls but haven’t mathematically clinched their berth yet. The Bulls have three games to play while the Wizards have two.

Beal is in a tight race with Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry for the NBA scoring title. Curry leads the league with 31.8 points per game, with Beal in second at 31.4 per game.

Beal injured his hamstring May 8 during a game against the Indiana Pacers and missed the following two contests, both against the Atlanta Hawks.
