The Los Angeles Rams put leading tackler Micah Kiser on injured reserve with an ailing knee, the team announced Thursday.

Kiser suffered the injury during Monday night’s win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The linebacker will have to miss at least three games before he can return, making the contest against the New York Jets on Dec. 20 the earliest he could be back on the field.

The third-year pro leads the Rams with 77 tackles to go with three passes defensed and a forced fumble. He started nine games for the Rams this season.

Kiser missed the 2019 season with a left pectoral injury that required surgery. He played in all 16 games as a rookie after the Rams selected him in the fifth round of the 2018 draft.

Troy Reeder is expected to start in Kiser’s place when the Rams (7-3) host the San Francisco 49ers (4-6) on Sunday. Reeder started eight games last season.
