The Atlanta Falcons’ methodical search for their next head coach continued Thursday with a second interview for Houston Texans offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik, the team confirmed.

Slowik, 36, has been a hot candidate on the coaching circuit, interviewing with at least the Carolina Panthers, Tennessee Titans and Washington Commanders for their jobs.

It was reported later Thursday that the Panthers had an agreement to hire Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Dave Canales. The Titans hired Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan on Wednesday.

Slowik had a virtual interview with the Falcons over the weekend and was invited to Atlanta to meet with team owner Arthur Blank, CEO Rich McKay and general manager Terry Fontenot at Blank’s home Thursday, according to reports.

The Falcons have interviewed 14 candidates for the position, including former Titans head coach Mike Vrabel on Wednesday.

Slowik is one of four to get a second interview so far. Bill Belichick, who won six Super Bowls with the New England Patriots, has interviewed twice along with Panthers defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero and Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris.

The Falcons need to replace Arthur Smith, who was fired earlier this month after three 7-10 seasons.
