Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones returned to practice Friday but his status remains uncertain for Sunday’s game at the Carolina Panthers.
Jones was a limited participant in Friday’s practice due to a hip injury and Falcons coach Dan Quinn told reporters he expects his star wideout to be a game-time decision for Sunday.

“Usually when he gets some work in on Friday, that’s a good thing,” Quinn said.

Atlanta will get a chance to further evaluate Jones during Saturday’s walk-through.

The NFL leader with 1,511 receiver yards, Jones did not practice Wednesday or Thursday. He reached 100 catches for the season with six receptions 82 yards and a touchdown in last week’s 40-14 drubbing of Arizona.

Jones already has nine 100-yard games this season, tying his own franchise record. All six of his touchdown receptions have come in the past seven games.

The No. 6 overall pick of Atlanta in the 2011 NFL Draft, Jones set an NFL record earlier this season by becoming the first receiver in history with five consecutive seasons of at least 1,400 yards. He shared the previous mark with Marvin Harrison.

Atlanta won the first matchup against Carolina with a 31-24 victory in Week 2. Jones had five catches for 64 yards in the win.
