The Baltimore Ravens cut quarterback Brett Hundley ahead of Tuesday afternoon’s deadline to reduce their roster to 85 players.

Hundley signed with Baltimore in May and competed for the backup quarterback job behind Lamar Jackson.

Instead the Ravens stuck with Tyler Huntley, who started four games for them last season. Undrafted rookie quarterback Anthony Brown is also on the roster.

Hundley, 29, saw limited action in last Thursday’s 23-10 preseason victory over the Tennessee Titans, going 2-of-2 passing for 42 yards. He last played in the regular season as a member of the Arizona Cardinals in 2019. In three appearances off the bench, he completed 5 of 11 passes for 49 yards.

Hundley started nine games in 2017 for the Green Bay Packers, the team that drafted him in the fifth round two years prior. As Aaron Rodgers missed time with a collarbone injury, Hundley finished that season with 1,836 passing yards and nine touchdowns on a 60.8 percent completion rate.

Baltimore also placed linebacker Trent Harris on injured reserve Tuesday. Harris was entering his first season with the team after one with the Miami Dolphins and two with the New York Giants.
