Buffalo Bills tight end Dawson Knox tested positive for COVID-19 and was placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Saturday.

Three other Bills players — tight ends Lee Smith and Tommy Sweeny, along with practice squad tight end Nate Becker — also were placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list because they were deemed to be in close contact with Knox.

As of Saturday afternoon, the Bills’ road game against the New York Jets remained on schedule for Sunday. The team elevated four players from its practice squad: wide receiver Duke Williams, offensive lineman Jordan Devey, linebacker Andre Smith and cornerback Dane Jackson.

Another Buffalo tight end, Tyler Kroft, missed the potential outbreak because he was with his wife, who was in labor for more than 24 hours before giving birth to a baby girl Friday morning. Kroft attended practice Friday but did not go to the meetings where the virus might have potentially spread.

Knox, 23, has six catches for 93 yards in four games this season. The former third-round draft pick had 28 catches for 388 yards and two touchdowns for the Bills in his rookie season of 2019.
