The Carolina Panthers are taking extra precautions after a player for the Atlanta Falcons was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

The Panthers defeated the Falcons 23-16 on Sunday, and on Tuesday, Atlanta placed rookie defensive tackle Marlon Davidson on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

Although Carolina doesn’t have any players on the list, the team said Wednesday morning it had “entered the NFL’s intensive protocol.”

NFL Network said the team’s precautionary measures include daily point-of-contact testing, holding virtual meetings and requiring the use of personal protective equipment in practice. The Minnesota Vikings took similar steps after playing the Tennessee Titans, who have had two dozen positive tests among players and staff members, and had no positives.

The Falcons (0-5) were set to return to practice on Wednesday.

The Panthers (3-2) are scheduled to host the Chicago Bears (4-1) on Sunday.
