–Cornerback Donte Jackson secured a fourth-quarter interception against Tampa Bay. He has four pickoffs, sharing the NFL lead.

Jackson said he’s pumped to learn of his spot on the league’s interception list. He said that’s a motivator to do even more.
“I’m a young buck in here,” he said. “I always try to stay focused and stay hungry.”

–The Panthers should feel well-versed in dealing with different kinds of opponents after their past two games.

They finished October by facing the Baltimore Ravens, who arrived with the NFL’s top-ranked defense. Then the Panthers began November by going against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who had the top-rated offense when they showed up at Bank of America Stadium.

The Panthers won both games.

“We didn’t lay down, we didn’t give up,” safety Mike Adams said of facing the Buccaneers. “We didn’t let them have things. … Being that we were ahead and gave up some things we shouldn’t have gave up, it happens.”

The Buccaneers managed 301 yards of total offense.

–Safety Eric Reid received the game ball after the Panthers defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It was only his fifth game with the team since he signed as a free agent.

“What I’ve wanted to do since I got here was just help the team win games and I’m happy I was able to do that,” he said.

Reid notched his first interception with the Panthers when he picked off Ryan Fitzpatrick. He could have had his first sack as well, but Fitzpatrick slipped out of his grip.

Instead, it led to a sack for teammate Mario Addison on the play.

“I should have had it, but Mario can have it,” Reid said.

BY THE NUMBERS: 4.1 points per drive – That’s the production for the Panthers in the past nine quarters since the fourth quarter of the comeback victory at Philadelphia.
