Wide receiver Laviska Shenault, a potential first-round pick in April’s NFL draft, won’t need surgery for a nagging injury, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Wednesday.
Schefter said the Colorado wideout has osteitis pubis, an inflammation of the pubic bone. The diagnosis was made by Dr. William Meyers in Philadelphia.
It was feared that Shenault had a core injury. While rest was prescribed, Schefter said it is possible Shenault could take part in the NFL combine later this month and at Colorado’s pro day on March 11.
ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. and Todd McShay ranked Shenault as a first-round pick in their latest mock drafts.
Shenault was the leading receiver for the Buffaloes in 2019, catching 56 passes for 764 yards and four touchdowns in 11 games.
In three seasons, he appeared in 31 games (16 starts) for the Buffaloes. He had 149 career receptions, good for seventh in Colorado history. He is 11th all-time at Colorado with 1,943 career yards.
