Former Atlanta Falcons head coach Dan Quinn is expected to be named the next defensive coordinator of the Dallas Cowboys.

According to multiple reports, Quinn is traveling to Dallas on Monday to meet with Cowboys ownership after a virtual interview on Saturday. NFL Network reports a deal could come later Monday.

Quinn was fired as head coach of the Falcons in October after an 0-5 start. Quinn, 50, finished 43-42 since taking over the Falcons for the 2015 season.

Quinn, who was the defensive coordinator in Seattle prior to taking the Atlanta job, would replace Mike Nolan, fired last week by head coach Mike McCarthy after one season leading the Cowboys’ defense. The Seahawks finished No. 1 in yards and points allowed in Quinn’s two seasons as DC in Seattle, going to back-to-back Super Bowls.

The Cowboys’ defense finished 28th in the league in points allowed per game (29.6) this past season.

Falcons secondary coach Joe Whitt and Panthers game coordinator Jason Simmons are the other two candidates for the post. Both also interviewed virtually with the Cowboys, per reports.
